Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup – Estée Lauder

Hands down my favorite full coverage foundation! It lasts all day and can cover up anything! This foundation can be a little on the thick side so I like to add some beauty oil to it when I apply. I have worn this in the sun all day sweating and it was still set perfectly after a 12 hours day.

Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer – Urban Decay

I’ve been using this concealer for years now and I’m stuck on it. I use this mainly under my eyes and it doesn’t feel cakey or sit in creases.

Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – Oil-Free – Laura Mercier

Great for a summer glow and has SPF in it for those beach days! This is what I use on vacation for a little coverage + SPF.

Beach Bunny Custom-Blend Bronzer – Too Faced

I love a good bronzer and this one I keep coming back to! I’ve gone through 4 of these and still, love it! Gives you the perfect glow and I also use it to contour.

DIPBROW™ Pomade – Anastasia Beverly Hills

Need a brow dip that stays on all day, even in water? If so this is for you. I’ve been using this for years and it’s my favorite brow product.

Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette – Anastasia Beverly Hills

I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow but when I do I always grab this pallet, I love all the colors and its great for all seasons. The pigment lasts all day and doesn’t crease.

Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain – Yves Saint Laurent

My favorite lip stain, I have it in 3 colors. I’m not a huge lipstick person and can’t stand anything drying. This stain has been perfect for me and doesn’t dry out my lips.

Spring is here!! Or is it? Lol this crazy NC weather keeps teasing us and I’m hoping for warmer days around the corner. Spring is my favorite time of the year second to Summer of course and if you know me you know I have a major shoe obsession, so sharing my favorite wedges of the season was easy peasy! A few of these items are on my wishlist/ buy before my Thailand trip list.

I know all of you have seen plenty of killer brow pics on Instagram and in real life, chances are they aren’t just filling them in at home, but microblading!

This semi-permanent technique is growing in popularity and people with all types of troublesome brows are loving it!  I have always filled in my brows, which can be pretty inconvenient when I don’t like wearing makeup, especially on vacation. This is the perfect alternative to brow fillers and one of the best personal investments I have made thus far. Not to mention it looks so NATURAL! I was so nervous before my first session because I didn’t want fake looking brows, the good news is they can be as thick and bold as you want them or arched and precise! If you still aren’t sure if microblading is for you, here’s what you need to know before making your final decision.

What is microblading?

A form of semi-permanent makeup that is deposited by a handheld tool topped with microneedles that deposit pigment under the first layer of skin by using small strokes that resemble hairs.

Who is a candidate?

The perfect candidate for microblading is someone who wants to define, cover gaps, and fill in over-plucked brows. Those that want a slight arch are also good candidates. I wanted to keep a very natural looking brow and a slight arch so this was perfect for me!

How long does it last?

Micro-blading is semi-permanent which means it lasts anywhere from 12 to 36 months. After the initial treatment, a touch-up session is needed within 4 to 8 weeks. How you take care of your brows in the healing phase will also determine how long they last.

Does it hurt?

Your microblading expert will apply a topical numbing cream before the start of your session to make it more comfortable. For me, the pain was very minimal and I think that it would be very tolerable for anyone. Yes, it was slightly uncomfortable I don’t want to lie to you, but after all, you get a great set of brows when you’re done! So to those of you worried about the pain, don’t! I would scale it on a 3 out of 10.

What to expect after your first session

The nice thing about microblading is you get to see results after your first session! While any change in your brows can look drastic, don’t be alarmed if they look bolder than you wanted them to. Immediately after your session, your brows should look bold, filled in and darker than your natural color. Not to worry though, over 2 weeks that will fade and they will decrease in size 10-20%. In order to achieve the best results possible you are fully responsible for the aftercare of your brows, your brow expert will give you instructions on what to do and NOT to do in the days following your treatment. What is most important is to listen to what you brow expert says and follow their directions so you get the best brows possible. The two most important things would be no heavy sweating for 5 days and staying out of direct sunlight, as well as washing your brows with a gentle cleanser followed by ointment.

What is the cost?

Your brows are an investment!! I’m saying this because some may look at the price of $500 and say no way! How can you resist not having to fill your eyebrows in every day, not wearing any makeup, and having photo ready brows?!? I cant’! During March and April, All About Aesthetics is running a $75 off special! Take advantage of this while it lasts!

Where do I go?

This is something that is so important when wanting to achieve desirable results with microblading. I only trust my brows with Brooke Johnson, the brow and skin queen at All About Aesthetics in Raleigh NC. Brooke is a World Microblading®️ Certified technician who helps people create their dream brows! Picking the right person to do your brows is crucial to the outcome and I always know when I go to Brooke that I am in good hands. Even if you live out of town and have to make a drive to come see her at All About Aesthetics it’s so worth it, remember these are your brows we are talking about! If you don’t live close enough to come see Brooke, take a plane! Just kidding, but seriously make sure you do your research on your artist because there are so many people out there doing microblading that don’t have the proper training and certification. Brooke went through a 5-day intensive course with live models. She was taught color theory, how to pick pigment based on her client skin tone, and took stroke removal classes! Most training courses don’t cover all of that! The last thing you want is a set of brows you hate because you didn’t go to a certified brow specialist. Make sure to always ask for proper certification and do your research so you know what questions to ask if you go anywhere else!

I am really loving my new brows so far and I can’t wait for them to heal all the way so I can see the final result! I would say if you are thinking about getting microblading done and you cant decide if its worth it, it 100% is and I would recommend Brooke at All About Aesthetics to anyone.  Please reach out if you have any questions about my experience and make sure to give All About Aesthetics a call for not only Microblading but spa services too. This place is great for everything from Botox to cool sculpting! I hope after reading this you feel more comfortable giving microblading a shot!
